In-between

I haven't been writing in years - and when I say this, I mean it literally. I am leaving D.C. after 10 months of enjoying, hating, loving, being appalled, being thrilled by the big city... its situations, its people, its awesomeness, its awkwardness!

Are we humans or are we dancers? ... And I'm on my knees looking for the answer. (The Killers)

I feel more of a dancer on the verge of crying, on the verge of laughing... at the crossroads of sadness and happiness. How dual this animal inside myself! And when you think that I got to appreciate this city less than a month ago... it's like a fever: you get it, or you don't! A D.C.-ophile virus. Smart, extremely smart people, interesting interactions, fascinating conversations, always luring career opportunities, a thrill, a throb, something that at this hour of night I can't put into words.

At this point, I am loking forward ... to Europe, to my dearest, my very dearest, to another city I love and which has been a home for me for over 5 years. It's my deep weakness which comes to light in these moments when I need to say goodbye.

If only I didn't grow so easily attached to people and places...

The race is long and I am strong enough to realize this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53htJ4ijH3o
